Fishing methods:

  • SPINNING: Spinning is a type of fishing that offers great activity and fun, as the equipment used is usually lightweight. This method can be practiced in both shallow areas and deeper waters.
    • We can find a good variety of species such as barracuda, bluefish or even dentex.
  • JIGGING: When jigging, we'll look for rocky bottoms where we can find species like dentex, grouper, amberjack, or seabream. This type of fishing offers a very exciting fight, as the battle with the fish is vertical, diving towards the bottom.
  • Bottom fishing: This fishing method involves trolling, primarily with live bait, at a slow speed and with a weight that allows the line to reach the bottom. Rocky bottoms are preferred in this technique, as we are targeting species such as dentex, grouper, and amberjack. This method is one of the most effective for catching dentex.
  • SURFACE TROLLING: In this type of fishing, the depth and the seabed will only determine the species we catch, as the lures will work on the surface. We can catch species such as mahi-mahi, horse mackerel, or a wide variety of tuna.
  • ZOKABALL: This fishing method involves finding specific rocks with good activity and letting a squid or cuttlefish hooked onto a Zoka ball sink. The boat is then stopped, and you wait for a bite. With this technique, you can catch anything from dentex to pollack—in short, any predator that inhabits rocky bottoms.
  • CEPHALOPOD FISHING: We will search for cephalopods in shallow waters, primarily targeting cuttlefish and squid. To find these species, we will use two different fishing techniques: squid trolling and tip running. Squid trolling involves trolling with special lures similar to minnows, but equipped with a squid jig instead of treble hooks. Tip running is similar to egging but is done from a boat using heavier lures. The ideal time for this type of fishing is winter, as the cooler waters draw cephalopods closer to the coast.
